Director Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI) Multan Dr Zahid Mahmood advised farmers to beware of jassid during hot and humid weather conditions and adopt proper measures to tackle its attack for better production.
He said that farmers should perform pest scouting twice a week and remove weeds at the earliest, a spokesman said in a statement on Tuesday. Farmers should follow the best planning in consultation with the agriculture officials, he added.
Hot and humid weather is conducive for jassid growth. To check jassid population growth and its attack, farmers should apply suitable pesticides after consulting agriculture officialsto get good cotton production, the release concluded.
