Quetta Preventive impounds 11 non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs90m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs anti-smuggling squad during campaign against non-duty paid vehicles impounded 11 vehicles worth millions of rupees.

Sources told that the operation against these vehicles were supervised by Additional Collector Jamil Baloch, Yasir Kalwar, Deputy Collector Chaudhary Afzal, Assistant Collector Saleem Tahir, Rana Umair, Superintendent Saleem Agha, Inspector Jamil Kakar, Ali Zaidi Lehri and Tufail Ahmad.

Sources further told that customs anti-smuggling squad raided on show room located at Airport Road, and recovered 11 non-customs paid vehicles, while some miscreants tried to resist the raiding team, but customs team after successful encounter shifted these vehicles to Customs House.

Collector Customs Preventive Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad directed anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards owners of non-duty paid vehicles. He directed that these persons should be dealt as per law.

It is necessary to mention here that during last week the Collectorate also impounded various non-duty paid vehicles which were being used for smuggling.
