Wheat futures were fractionally to 3 cents higher in the CBT and KC contracts on Tuesday. MPLS was the weakest, down 3 to 7 1/4 cents in most contracts. Monday afternoon’s USDA Crop Progress report showed Montana and the Dakotas to be ahead of their harvest averages, with Idaho, Minnesota and Washington lagging. Farm Futures sees 2017 all wheat acres at 48.1 million acres in 2017 according to their survey of producers, 5.4% larger than this year.
